Captain Ivan Franic is a holder of a Master Mariner Certificate of Competency with more than 20 years of experience in the maritime and yachting industry, including the last 10 years as Captain of large private and charter yachts ranging from 60 to 80 metres.
A graduate of the Maritime College in Croatia, he has continuously pursued advanced professional development through specialized maritime training programs across Europe, including Maritime Resource Management (Germany), Business and Maritime Law, ISM and DPA Certification (France), ISM Implementation (Greece), and Classification and Statutory Survey Courses (Monaco). He is also certified in Workplace Sexual Harassment Prevention and Compliance.
Drawing upon extensive operational and command experience, Captain Franic specializes in maritime regulations, yacht compliance, safety management systems, crew administration, and industry best practices. His comprehensive understanding of international maritime legislation, flag state requirements, classification standards, and yacht operations provides valuable guidance on regulatory and legal matters within the yachting sector.
At Black Sea Yacht Academy, Captain Franic supports the Legal and Compliance Department, contributing his expertise in maritime governance, regulatory compliance, operational standards, and professional conduct within the international yachting industry.
